Headlam Group plc ('Headlam'), the leading UK floorcoverings distributor,
announces that on Monday 29 July 2002 it acquired certain assets of the UK
floorcovering distribution business of Wollimex AG of Switzerland


Wollimex, a national supplier of specialist commercial carpets will be relocated
to Headlam's West Midlands distribution centre and is in keeping with Headlam's
strategy of operating multiple trade brands to achieve an enhanced market
presence from existing facilities.


Consideration based on the net assets acquired was £284,000.

Annualised sales for this business amount to approximately £400,000.
