                                 AGM STATEMENT

At its Annual General Meeting today, Trevor Larman, Chairman of Headlam Group,
stated that sales in the first 21 weeks of 2005 against the corresponding period
last year, have increased by 2.6% on a like for like basis.

This positive sales trend has been achieved through the group continuing to
develop its market position with independent retailers and flooring contractors.

With a solid start to the year, the group looks forward to another year of
growth in profitability.
