Transaction in Own Shares

Headlam Group plc ('Headlam') announces that on 24 September 2007, it purchased 
for cancellation 75,000 of its ordinary shares at a price of 545.0 pence per 
ordinary share.

Following the above purchase the total number of Headlam ordinary shares in 
issue (excluding the total of 2,014,896 ordinary shares now held in treasury) 
is 83,743,847.
