Grant of Share Options to Directors

Today, 21st September, 2001, the following share options were granted to 
Executive Directors and their families under the terms of the Inland Revenue 
Approved, Heavitree Brewery PLC 1998 Company Share Option Scheme ('the Scheme').

Director               Notifiable interest in 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares
                       under option.

G.J. Crocker*       12301

*Both Directors' notifiable interest includes the granting of options to their 
respective wives under the Scheme.

Mrs. S.K. Wood and Mrs. J. Crocker, both employees of the Company, were each 
granted share options over 1160 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares.

These options are exercisable between 21st September, 2004 and 1st October, 
2004, at a price of  £2.35 per share.
