Announcement - Appointment and Retirement of Directors





Current employees, Mr Terry Wheatley (Estates Manager) and Mr Rodney James
Glanville (Assistant Company Secretary), have both been appointed to the Board
of The Heavitree Brewery PLC. Their appointment takes effect from 1st January
2003.



Mr Wheatley is presently interested in 833 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares,
representing   0.02% of the relevant share capital.



Mr Glanville is presently interested in 7657 'A' Limited Voting Ordinary Shares,
representing 0.2% of the relevant share capital.



Mrs Susan Margaret Duncan (non-executive Director) will not be seeking to renew
her contract, which expires on 31st December 2002, and will therefore be
retiring from the Board of The Heavitree Brewery PLC on that date.
