Announcement - Managing Director


Following a managerial review it was concluded that, given the size of the
Company and with particular regard to its internal operating procedures, the
role of Managing Director would be best served by a single appointment as
opposed to the present joint position, currently held by Mr.L.Wood and
Mr.N.H.P.Tucker.

As a consequence, with effect from 1st August 2002, Mr.Tucker will assume the
position of sole Managing Director and Mr.Wood will step down having accepted
the redundancy package on offer.

Mr.Wood joined the Company in 1963 and has made an invaluable contribution to
the Company's development. His experience and knowledge will not be lost, as he
has accepted an offer to remain on the Board in a non-executive capacity.
