HELICAL BAR SELLS SAINSBURY'S SUPERSTORE AT WEDNESFIELD
Helical Bar plc has disposed of the Sainsbury's superstore at Wednesfield by
means of a disposal of its interests in the Helical (Wednesfield) partnership
for £18.36 million in cash. Approximately £9.1 million has been applied towards
redeeming bank debt secured against the property.
The purchaser is a subsidiary of LXB, a privately run property company
specialising in out-of-town retail.
The Wednesfield property comprises a store of 69,129 sq ft, plus a petrol
filling station let to Sainsbury's Supermarkets Ltd on a lease expiring in 2025
at a rental of £802,968 per annum.
