          NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS OF DIRECTORS AND CONNECTED PARTIES

                HELICAL BAR PLC ('Helical Bar 'or 'the Company')


The Company was informed today that the following transactions had taken place:


1.         Exercise of Share Options


On 30 June 2006 subscription options over 654,792 new ordinary 1p shares and
19,097 ordinary 1p shares held by the Company's ESOP Trust were exercised in
accordance with the rules of the Helical Bar 1999 Share Option Scheme and the
Senior Executive 1988 Share Option Scheme.  Following the exercise of these
options the Company had 95,026,717 ordinary 1p shares in issue.


Included in these transactions are options exercised by the following Directors:


Gerald Kaye

Options over 190,966 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over
250,000 shares at 88.50p per share.


Michael Brown

Options over 356,041 shares exercised at 1p per share, originally granted over
466,105 shares at 88.50p per share.


2.         Sale of Shares


On 30 June 2006 the following Directors sold shares in the Company:


Gerald Kaye

190,966 shares sold at 375.0p per share


Michael Brown

356,041 shares sold at 375.0p per share




3.         Helical Bar plc Employee Share Ownership Plan Trust ('ESOP')


On 30 June 2006 the Company's ESOP purchased 389,334 ordinary 1p shares at 375p
per share.  Following this purchase the ESOP holds 6,092,131 (6.4%) ordinary 1p
shares in the Company.


4.         Share Incentive Plan


On 30 June 2006 the Company was informed that Helical Bar Trustees Limited had
purchased 25,000 ordinary 1p shares in the Company for future award to directors
and employees under the terms of the Helical Bar Plc Share Incentive Plan.
Following this purchase Helical Bar Trustees Limited holds 216,211 (0.2%)
ordinary 1p shares in the Company.


5.         Directors' Interests in Shares


Following these transactions the interests of Gerald Kaye and Michael Brown in
the shares of the Company are as follows:
