Appointment of a new Director

Henderson Opportunities Trust plc ('the Company') announces that Mr Peter Jones has been appointed a non-executive director with effect from 12 December 2011. 

Mr Jones has been Chief Executive of Associated British Ports Holdings Ltd since April 2007.  He was formerly Chief Executive of Mersey Docks & Harbour Company, having worked in ports and shipping businesses in the UK and Europe since 1977.  Mr Jones is also a non-executive director of SKIL Ports & Logistics Ltd, an AIM-listed company involved in the development of a small port in India, at Karanja in close proximity to Mumbai.  He has previously served as non-executive director of Through Transport Mutual Insurance and of the United Kingdom Major Ports Group.  Mr Jones has also been a member of the Bank of England's North-West Quarterly Panel.

In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are no additional details to be disclosed in relation to Mr Jones.
