Appointment of a new Director

The Board of Henderson Opportunities Trust plc ("the Company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Harry Morgan, as a non-executive director with effect from 1 August 2021.  Harry will also join the Audit and Risk, Insider, Management Engagement and Nominations Committees with effect from 1 August 2021.

Harry has over 30 years' experience of investment management for private clients, financial advisers and charities.  He is currently a non-executive director of Mid Wynd International Investment Trust plc, a member of the investment committees for the Robertson Trust and the Royal Society of Edinburgh, a trustee of the bequest fund for ministers of the Church of Scotland and an external adviser to the centre for financial markets research at Heriot-Watt University. Harry was a director of investment management and head of key clients (Scotland) for Tilney until September 2020 and a non-executive director of the Association of Investment Companies until January 2020.  Harry has also previously held positions at Adam & Company, Newton, Edinburgh Fund Managers, Anderson Strathern Asset Management and Thomas Miller Investment.

In accordance with paragraphs 9.6.13 (1) to (6) of the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that, other than the directorships listed above and the following disclosure, there are no other details to be disclosed in relation to Harry Morgan.

In his capacity as an employee of Adam Investment Management Limited, Harry was nominated as a director to the board of Adam & Company Second General Partner Limited.  On 31 January 2012, liquidators were appointed following a winding up order being made against Adam & Company Second General Partner Limited. This was a direct result of the insolvency of the Adam & Company Second Property Partnership of which Adam & Company Second General Partner Limited was general partner.

Chris Hills, who has served on the Board for 11 years, will retire with effect from the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting in March 2022.
