THE HENDERSON SMALLER COMPANIES INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

As at close of business on 16 October 2008, the unaudited net asset value per share calculated in accordance with the AIC formula (including current financial year revenue items) was 173.6p and the net asset value per share including debt marked at fair value was 165.8p. 

As at close of business on 16 October 2008, the unaudited net asset value per share (calculated excluding current financial year revenue items) was 172.3p and the net asset value per share including debt marked at fair value was 164.4p.
