In conformity with the Disclosure and Transparency Rule 5.6.1 The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc notifies the market of the following:

As at 30 April 2010, The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc's capital with voting rights consists of 74,995,796 ordinary shares of 25p each.  The Company has no shares in treasury.

Therefore, the total number of voting rights in The Henderson Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc is 74,995,796.
