Company Secretary Appointment

The Board of Henry Boot PLC is pleased to announce the appointment of Russell Deards LLB (Hons) as Company Secretary with immediate effect.

Russell joined Henry Boot in April 2013 and since then has been responsible for the Company secretarial, legal and insurance functions of the trading subsidiaries that form the Henry Boot Group of Companies.

Russell qualified in law in 1988 at Birmingham University; over his 22-year career, he has gained extensive knowledge and experience, particularly as an in-house lawyer in the property development and construction sectors. Over the last seven years, he has managed legal, compliance and risk management issues for both Wilson Bowden PLC and Barratt Developments PLC.

Commenting on the appointment, Jamie Boot, Group Managing Director said:

"On behalf of the Board and colleagues at the Company, I am delighted to welcome Russell to the business - his experience in compliance and legal frameworks has been invaluable to the trading Companies and it is a natural progression for him to take on the role as head of Group secretariat activities".

Following this appointment, John Sutcliffe, who has been responsible for Group secretariat activities, relinquishes this additional role and continues with his responsibilities as Group Finance Director of the Company.
