Appointment of Tom Black as Non-executive Director of the Company
The Board of Herald Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Black as a Non-executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.
Tom Black is Chairman and Co-Founder of Digital Barriers plc, a company which specialises in providing advanced surveillance technologies to the international homeland security and defence markets. He is also a non-executive director of Pinnacle Technology Group plc. He has advisory roles with a number of smaller unlisted businesses and sits on the Strategy Advisory Group of Wolfson College Oxford.
Tom was previously Chief Executive of Detica Plc, a leading company in the field of large-scale information collection and analysis for intelligence and counter fraud applications, which was acquired by BAE Systems in 2008 for £538 million. He had been chief executive since 1995 and grew the business rapidly, floating it on the London Stock Exchange in 2002 and creating several specialised technology based subsidiaries.
Tom has an honours degree in Applied Physics from the University of Strathclyde and a Doctorate in Radiation Effect Physics from Oxford.
The Appointment of Tom Black falls to be ratified by shareholders at the Annual General meeting of the Company to be held in April 2014.
There is no other information required to be disclosed under section 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules in respect of Tom Black.
