Appointment of James Will and Karl Sternberg as non-executive directors

The board of Herald Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointments of James Will and Karl Sternberg as new non-executive directors of the Company with effect from the close of the annual general meeting today, Tuesday 21 April 2015.

James Will was chairman and a senior corporate partner of law firm Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP until his retiral in October 2014. He also headed the law firm's financial sector practice.  Over the last 20 years he has been involved in advising smaller quoted technology companies on a range of corporate transactions, including flotations, secondary fundraisings and mergers and acquisitions. 

James is a non-executive director of The Scottish Investment Trust PLC, a self-managed global growth investment trust. James was also until recently a member of the Council of CBI Scotland.

Karl Sternberg was a founding partner of the successful fund management company Oxford Investment Partners Limited from 2006 until 2013, when it was acquired by Towers Watson. Much of his earlier career was spent at Morgan Grenfell (which became Deutsche Asset Manager), where he rose to become Chief Investment Officer, Europe & Asia Pacific.

Karl is Chairman of JP Morgan Income & Growth Trust plc and a non-executive director of Clipstone Land plc, Monks Investment Trust plc, Lowland Investment Company plc and Railpen Investments.

Until 8 April 2015, he was a non-executive director of Friends Life Group plc.

There is no other information required to be disclosed under section 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules in respect of James Will or Karl Sternberg.
