Hill & Smith Holdings PLC (the 'Company') announces that it was notified by
Aviva plc on 27 July 2006 that, following the disposal by Aviva plc and its
subsidiaries (the 'Aviva Group') of 129,886 ordinary shares on 26 July 2006, the
Aviva Group now holds 2,485,375 ordinary shares, representing approximately 3.9%
of the issued share capital of the Company.
