Since  the  release  of  the Company's 1998  results  on  17  May  1999,
directors of Hiscox have purchased an aggregate of 220,000 shares in the
Company.  Hiscox  is  now  in close period  until  the  release  of  the
Company's interim results on 30 September 1999.
