Hiscox PLC ('Hiscox') was notified on 8 November 2002 that, following the recent
rights issue, Ian Nicholas Thomson Esq. is interested in 9,562,268 ordinary
shares of 5p each in the issued share capital of Hiscox ('Shares'), representing
3.31 per cent. of the enlarged issued share capital, as detailed in the table
below.
