Hiscox plc ('Hiscox') has been notified on 29 April 2003 on behalf of Fidelity
International Limited ('FIL'), that FIL and various direct and indirect
subsidiaries, as non-beneficial holders, are interested in 25,950,421 ordinary
shares of 5p each in the issued share capital of Hiscox, representing 8.93 per
cent. of the issued share capital.
The shares are registered in the following names:
