Analyst Visit & Trading Update
Visit to Speke
On Friday, 11th May, MFI, the UK's leading retailer and manufacturer of
kitchens and bedrooms will host a visit to its new store in Speke for
analysts and institutional investors.
At MFI's presentation to investors and analysts at Speke near Liverpool,
Mark Horgan, Customer and Strategy Director, will explain the rationale
behind the new store design and discuss its performance. Using the
principles developed at Speke, a further four stores have recently been
opened. Their performance is encouraging and will provide additional
information to support a continuing rollout of this format.
Commenting on the new store, Mr Horgan said: 'Speke is a major step forward
for MFI, we are pleased with reactions from both customers and staff.'
Current Trading
During the visit to Speke, CEO, John Hancock will offer this update on
current trading. 'When we last spoke to the market at the time of our
preliminary results on 19th March, we indicated that total like for like
orders for the start of the new financial year were up by 6.4%. I am pleased
to report that in the first 18 weeks of the current financial year, orders
continue to be strong and in line with expectations.'
Interim results for the 24 weeks to 16th June 2001 will be published on 26th
July.
