Appointment of Non-Executive Director


MFI Furniture Group Plc, the UK's leading retailer and manufacturer of kitchens
and bedrooms, announces that it has appointed Ian Smith as a non-executive
director.

Ian Smith, 46, is Group Commercial Director of Exel plc, one of the world's
largest logistics and freight forwarding businesses.

Previously, he was Managing Director of Monitor Company, a strategic
consultant, and prior to that worked at Shell in the Middle East. Ian has an
MBA from Harvard.


Commenting on the appointment, Ian Peacock, Chairman of MFI, said:

'I am delighted to welcome Ian Smith to the board.  MFI has a number of
exciting growth plans and Ian's strong strategic and logistic credentials will
provide us with valuable insight and further strengthen the board. We look
