MFI Furniture Group PLC 14 September 2004 For Immediate Release 14 September 2004 MFI Furniture Group plc - Board changes MFI announces that Gordon MacDonald, Group Categories and Manufacturing Director with responsibility for the supply chain, and Martin Clifford-King, Chief Financial Officer, are leaving the company by mutual agreement. They will leave the MFI board with their executive duties ceasing with immediate effect. Following a short handover period they will also leave the company. John Hancock, Chief Executive, will assume overall responsibility for supply chain and category management, leading an experienced team. Shaun O'Callaghan, Strategy and Development Director, has been appointed as Interim Chief Financial Officer. Shaun is a qualified accountant and former Partner of KPMG, and in addition brings significant financial turnaround skills to the role. A process for appointing a new Chief Financial Officer is underway. John Hancock, Chief Executive, commented: 'The Board would like to thank Gordon and Martin for their contribution to MFI over the years. Despite recent difficulties, they have played important roles in the company's development and have been valued members of the executive team. We wish both of them well in their future careers.' Prior to joining the company, Shaun was a Partner at KPMG and worked closely with MFI's Board as an adviser on a number of strategic issues. Shaun has also held posts in Norwich Union and in Arthur Andersen, where he trained as a chartered accountant.
