Non-Executive Director
MFI Furniture Group Plc today announces that Denise Kingsmill
has decided not to seek re-election as a non-executive director
at the AGM in May 2001, and plans to step down from the Board
at that time.
Denise Kingsmill has been a non-executive director of the
Company since May 1997 and Deputy Chairman since July 1999.
She has played a vital role in the stabilisation and turnaround
of the Group during that period, and in particular played a
pivotal part in the transition to the new management team and
in the areas of design and product development. In addition to
her position at MFI, Denise is Deputy Chairman of the
Competition Commission and was recently appointed to head up
the Women's Employment and Pay Review.
Ian Peacock, MFI's non-executive Chairman, said: 'I would like
to take this opportunity to thank Denise for her invaluable
contribution to MFI over the last four years. She has been a
vital member of the Board and she leaves with our thanks and
good wishes.'
