MFI ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR


MFI Furniture Group Plc today announces that Mary Baker will be retiring as
a Non-executive Director of MFI Furniture Group Plc with effect from 31
December 2000.

Chairman, Ian Peacock, said: 'On behalf of the Board I would like to
express our warm thanks and appreciation for Mary's significant
contribution over the eight years she has served on the Board at MFI'.
