TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Howden Joinery Group Plc (the "Company") announces that on 15 April 2016 it purchased through Numis Securities Ltd the following number of its ordinary shares for cancellation at an average price of 450.62p per share:

Number of ordinary shares purchased and subsequently cancelled:	400,000
Highest purchase price paid per share:	455.53p
Lowest purchase price paid per share:	445.40p

Following the above transaction, the Company has 635,001,973 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares) and 10,828,842 ordinary shares in treasury.
