TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Howden Joinery Group Plc (the "Company") announces that on 5 April 2016 it purchased through Numis Securities Ltd the following number of its ordinary shares for cancellation at an average price of 473.78p per share:

Number of ordinary shares purchased and subsequently cancelled:	200,000
Highest purchase price paid per share:	478.00p
Lowest purchase price paid per share:	471.10p

Following the above transaction, the Company has 637,801,973 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares) and 10,828,842 ordinary shares in treasury.
