Tuzon extends northwards and drilling commencing at Sackor, within the Dugbe 1 area

In advance of a number of upcoming site visits Hummingbird is pleased to announce its latest drill results from the first 17 holes of the northerly extension to the existing 2.05Moz Tuzon gold Resource.  Hummingbird is also pleased to report that it has received a large amount of data back from trenching the Sackor gold target, 3km south west of its 1.8Moz Dugbe F gold Resource, with drilling commencing imminently.

"We have always been confident that the maiden 2.05Moz Tuzon Resource was still open and these initial results prove this.  We are pleased with the extension drilling to date and look forward to a Resource upgrade at Tuzon in the near future.  Drilling is about to commence at Sackor, a gold anomaly 3km south west of Dugbe F, on the back of positive trench results.  This continues to show the potential for Hummingbird to add to its existing Resources within the Dugbe 1 area."

Tuzon

These drill hole results signal the likely extension of the Tuzon gold Resource to the north by 300m to 400m in strike length.  We delineated our maiden 2.05Moz Resource at Tuzon in four months, drilling 9,400m over 43 drill holes.  Since this period we have drilled a further 5,700m over 28 holes and are awaiting results on 11 drill holes.  Tuzon remains open and results from the 11 outstanding holes will direct further drill locations in the future. 

Sackor

The Sackor target lies 3km south west of Dugbe F with existing road access from Dugbe Camp.  Drilling is due to commence imminently for an initial programme of 2,000m over 14 holes.  To date we have completed 3,000m of trenching over 12 trenches at Sackor giving a number of economic gold grade trench intersections.  We are still awaiting a number of trench results that will potentially add to the initial drill targets.

Hummingbird Resources plc is an AIM quoted mineral exploration company incorporated in England and Wales and headquartered in London. Since its establishment in November 2005, the Company and its subsidiaries (the "Group") has been active in Liberia, West Africa, and is currently the holder of the largest area of mineral exploration ground in the highly prospective Birimian geological region of eastern Liberia.  The Group's total Resource is 3,817,000 ounces of gold (Indicated Resource of 1,373,000 ounces Gold and Inferred Resource of 2,444,000 ounces gold).

The Group has a NI 43-101 compliant gold Resource on its Dugbe F deposit of 43.01 million tonnes at 1.276 g/t Au to give 1,765,000 ounces of gold using a lower cut-off grade of 0.5 g/t Au and no upper cut-off grade (Indicated Resource of 1,373,000 ounces of gold at 1.28 g/t Au and an Inferred Resource of 392,000 ounces of gold at 1.23 g/t Au).   The Group now has in addition to this a Maiden Inferred NI 43-101 compliant Resource on its Tuzon project of 52.8 million tonnes at 1.21 g/t Au to give 2,052,000 ounces gold using a lower cut-off grade of 0.5 g/t Au and an upper cut-off grade of 7.0 g/t Au. Tuzon lies 2.6km to the east of the Dugbe F deposit.  The exploration has been based on sound geological premises and has been executed in an efficient and practical manner according to best industry practices.

The Group currently holds exploration licences covering approximately 7,000 square kilometres in total, which constitutes a significant proportion of eastern Liberia containing the Birimian sequence.
