                    Hunting PLC ('Hunting' or the 'Company')

          Cancellation and Repayment of Convertible Preference Shares
                     Result of the hearing of the Petition

The Board of Hunting announces that the High Court has today approved the
cancellation of all of the 8.25 per cent. Cumulative Convertible Preference
Shares of £1 in the Company (both issued and unissued). The cancellation will
become effective on registration of the Court Order by the Registrar of
Companies. It is expected that this will occur on 30 July 2004. The date of
despatch of cheques for capital and payment of accrued dividends will be 6
August 2004.
