Prague Exhibition Grounds

ITE Group PLC 19 February 2001 For immediate release 19th February 2001 ITE Group Plc ('ITE') acquires management control of the Prague Exhibition Grounds ('Vystaviste') ITE announces that Incheba Praha, which is 50% owned by ITE, has entered into a lease with the City of Prague in respect of the land and buildings at Vystaviste in the centre of Prague. The lease is for an initial period of 15 years with a five-year extension option. Vystaviste, which extends over an area of 36 hectares, was designed by the famous architect Krizik, influenced and guided by Eiffel, and completed in 1891. The Exhibition Ground is currently used for varied exhibition activities but also for cultural and business events, including last year's Annual Meeting of the World Bank. The main exhibitions are held within the Industrial Palace, which has over 10,000 sq.ms net of exhibition space with a further 10,000 sq.ms. in adjoining pavilions. There are over 50 exhibitions held each year. Incheba Praha will hold 16 exhibitions in 2001 and ITE's subsidiary, Agentura Triumf, has just held its premier event Holiday World, at this location. ITE will focus all of its current exhibition activities in the Czech Republic within Vystaviste under the management of Alexander Rozin. He is a director of ITE and also the majority shareholder in Incheba A.S., which owns the exhibition centre in Bratislava, Slovakia and 50% of Incheba Praha. ITE's financial commitment for the first five years of the lease will not exceed £5 million. Lawrie Lewis, ITE's Chairman said: 'This important transaction, successfully negotiated by Alexander Rozin, not only secures the tenancy of our existing shows but also gives us the opportunity to expand and invest in the exhibition activities in Prague in partnership with the City itself. We see significant potential in developing new exhibitions and other profit opportunities at Vystaviste, given the quality of the facility and Prague's major potential as an international visitor location. It is already the seventh most visited City in Europe and offers more hotel rooms than any other European City, apart from London and Paris.'
