London Stock Exchange's Green Economy Mark
i(x) Net Zero PLC, (AIM: IX.) the investing company which focuses on Energy Transition and Sustainability in the Built Environment, is delighted to announce that it has received the London Stock Exchange's Green Economy Mark.
The Green Economy Mark classification was created to highlight companies and investment funds listed on all segments of London Stock Exchange's Main Market and AIM that are driving the global green economy. To qualify for the Green Economy Mark, companies must generate 50% or more of their total annual revenues from products and services that contribute to environmental objectives, such as climate change mitigation and adaptation, waste and pollution reduction and the circular economy or, for investment vehicles, specialise in investing in environmental themes.
The underlying methodology incorporates the Green Revenues data model developed by FTSE Russell. It provides a detailed taxonomy of environmental goods, products and services, and is designed to recognise both 'pure-play' green technology companies, as well as those across all industries that make significant contributions to the transition to a sustainable, low carbon economy.
To date, i(x) Net Zero has invested in biofuels, direct air capture (carbon removal), wind and solar energy, sustainable workforce housing and net zero construction technology. The Company subscribes to the UN Principles for Responsible Investing and has been accepted as a provisional signatory.
Steve Oyer, Chief Executive Officer of the Company, said: "We are honoured to have received London Stock Exchange's Green Economy Mark, which recognises i(x) Net Zero's contribution to the green energy transition. We are at the forefront of enabling investment into companies that are dedicated to solving some of the world's most pressing challenges and look forward to doing this whilst generating long-term capital growth for our shareholders."
