Non-Executive Board Appointment

International Greetings PLC, one of the world's leading designers, innovators and manufacturers of gift packaging & greetings, stationery and creative play products,  is pleased to announce the appointment today of Philip ("Phil") Dutton as a Non-Executive Director.  Phil will also Chair the Audit Committee.

Phil, aged 50, has developed his career in retail and consumer facing businesses, holding several senior Board roles of listed companies.  Most recently, Phil was Group Finance Director from 2007 - 2011 of Punch Taverns, the FTSE listed pub company.  Prior to this, Phil was Finance Director of Matalan, the UK's leading out of town fashion and homeware retailer, from 2002 - 2007.  During this time, Phil played a key role in shaping the strategy of the business and leading the transition of the finance function when the company was taken private (from being FTSE 250 listed).

Phil started his career at Pannell Kerr Forster in 1982 for three years, where he qualified as a chartered accountant, and following this he spent five years at Price Waterhouse Coopers.  From 1990 - 2002 Phil held various roles at Asda Group PLC, including as Group Planning Controller, Group Financial Controller and Asda Stores Finance Director.  Following the acquisition of Asda by Walmart, he undertook the role of Business Alignment Director, identifying synergies and system conversion opportunities arising from the acquisition.

Commenting on Phil's appointment, John Charlton, Chairman said:
