IMAGE SCAN HOLDINGS PLC SIGNS US LICENSING AGREEMENT WITH GALAXY SCIENTIFIC
CORPORATION
Image Scan Holdings plc (AIM: IGE), a provider of leading real-time multi-view,
3D X-ray imaging solutions for the industrial and security inspection markets,
today confirmed that it has signed a licensing agreement with Galaxy Scientific
Corporation - a leading provider of security and technology solutions to the US
aviation industry and US Government departments.
Under the terms of the agreement, Image Scan Holdings has granted Galaxy
Scientific the rights to reproduce, distribute or sub-license its MimiX software
in conjunction with Galaxy's market leading training software package used by US
organisations for training operators of X-ray security screening equipment -
Galaxy's TRX Machine Simulation Software Package.
Nicholas Fox, Chief Executive of Image Scan Holdings plc, commented:
'The Galaxy Scientific agreement forms part of our ongoing strategy of
partnering with complementary organisations to open up specific opportunities
within the global X-ray security market so that our X-ray technology and
advanced solutions become standardised within key sectors.'
Image Scan's MimiX software is a unique package that mimics the visual
appearance of X-ray images, as well as the associated image processing
functions, generated by the main X-ray security screening systems currently on
the market. This allows an organisation to train its staff cost efficiently
across a broad range of X-ray security equipment interfaces without having to
acquire the underlying machines and/or simulators or acquire reference images
for each of the security machines on the market.
James Yoh, CEO and President of Galaxy Scientific Corporation, adds:
'By combining the two companies' technologies, we can dramatically reduce the
training costs and training time for organisations operating X-ray based
detection systems. We are confident our solution will become a 'must-have'
programme for US government departments and the US aviation industry.'
With offices across the US and Canada, Galaxy Scientific Corporation employs
over 400 technically skilled staff.
