IMAGE SCAN HOLDINGS plc
Product extension with Rapiscan
Image Scan, is pleased to announce that it has received an order from its sales
and marketing partner Rapiscan Security Products Ltd ('Rapiscan') for a new 3D
X-ray imaging system. The unit with a tunnel size of 100cm x 80 cm is larger
that the current model 3D20, and is due for delivery to the customer in August
2004.
Nicholas Fox, Chief Executive of Image Scan, said:
'We are delighted to receive an order to supply this larger unit which offers
both us and our sales and marketing partner Rapiscan even greater opportunities
in high security checkpoint screening and the small freight sectors. This second
product offering is an exciting milestone as it allows us to target the
increasingly important and undeveloped small freight cargo sector. The focussed
commitment of a major industry supplier is seen as a significant endorsement of
the 3D technology and the benefits it brings to a market continually seeking
better detection capability and higher performance products.'
Peter Williamson, Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Rapiscan, said:
'The new larger unit adds to the portfolio and will add to the sales momentum
generated following the European sales launch of our 3D20 unit in April.
Interest is building as customers formulate specifications, issue tenders, and
submit bids and we expect to see a good level of orders for the core 3D product
shortly. With the USA sales launch in 2 weeks I expect the sales opportunities
to continue to grow.'
