Massimo Grassi appointed Managing Director of IMI's Precision Engineering division

IMI plc ("IMI" or "the Company"), the specialist engineering company, announces the appointment of Massimo Grassi as Managing Director of the Company's Precision Engineering division.  Massimo, who will join IMI on 1 June 2015, will report to Mark Selway and become a member of IMI's Executive Committee.

Mark Selway, Chief Executive of IMI, said:

"Massimo is a great addition to our team.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across many of our end markets.  He has also overseen a number of complex change programmes, successfully delivered growth focused strategies and integrated acquisitions."

Until 1 September 2015, to ensure a smooth transition of the Divisional Managing Director role, Massimo will work alongside Mark Selway, who is currently overseeing the management of the Precision Engineering division.

For the last eight years Massimo Grassi has been part of the senior management team at Stanley Black & Decker, the US listed global provider of a range of industrial products and solutions. During this time he has served as President of Stanley Black & Decker's global Industrial and Automotive Repair business and, for the last four years, he has been President of its European Security business which employs 6,700 people across 14 countries and generated revenues of approximately $1 billion in 2014.
