Board Appointment

IMI PLC 15 January 2007 15 January 2007 IMI plc IMI announces appointment of new Executive Director IMI plc, the major international engineering group, today announces the appointment of Roy Twite as an Executive Director with responsibility for its Retail Dispense businesses with effect from 1 February 2007. Mr Twite, aged 39, joined IMI in 1988 as an engineering graduate. He has held a number of senior operational positions, including that of Managing Director Norgren UK, before becoming President of IMI's Indoor Climate business, based in Sweden, in 2004. He succeeds Wayne Whitney, who has decided to retire as a director at the end of January 2007, aged 57, after nearly 20 years with IMI. Norman Askew, IMI's Chairman, commented: 'We are confident that Roy will build on his excellent track record within IMI as he joins the Board and takes over the leadership of our Retail Dispense businesses. We accept Wayne's decision to retire, extend our thanks to him for his strong contribution over many years, and wish him well in his retirement.' IMI reports its preliminary results for 2006 on 5 March 2007. These results, across all of our business platforms, are expected to be in line with the trading update given in mid-December 2006.
