IMI PLC - GRANT OF OPTIONS UNDER THE NEW IMI PLC SHARE OPTION PLAN

In accordance with DTR 3.1.4R(1)(a) IMI plc (the 'Company') announces that on 3 September 2009 the Company granted to each of the following Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility options over the number of ordinary shares of £0.25 each in the Company shown against his name below in accordance with the rules of the Company's new Share Option Plan with an exercise price of £440.93 per share.

No consideration was paid for the grant of the options. Under normal circumstances the options will become exercisable three years after the date they were granted and will lapse, to the extent they are not exercised, ten years after the date they were granted. .
