Appointment of Group Finance Director



Impax Group plc is pleased to announce that Nigel Taunt is joining the board
as Group Finance Director. Since qualifying as a chartered accountant in 1978,
Nigel Taunt has worked in a number of financial and management roles. From
1992 to 1998 he was Finance Director of Yorkshire Environmental Solutions
Limited and was involved in other environmental and renewable energy
activities owned by Kelda plc. During this period the business grew
substantially and he gained significant experience of key sectors of
environmental technology including waste processing, incineration and
renewable energy. Since leaving YESL he has been finance director of two AIM
companies.



In addition to his direct responsibility for finance, Nigel's experience at
YESL will enable him to make a valuable contribution to the development of the
Group's business.



Garry Butterfield, who has been part time finance director of the Company
since its flotation in 1996, is standing down from the Board to concentrate on
his engineering business based in the West Midlands.
