Bank dated 13 January 2004 :

'Section 198 Companies Act 1985

Pursuant to Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985, we write to inform you that
as at the close of business on 9th January 2004, UBS Investment Bank,
('UBS-IB'), a business group of UBS AG, had an interest in 1,191,277 Ordinary
Shares of IMPAX Group, representing 3.357 per cent of the issued share capital
of the Company.

These interests are held by UBS-IB as beneficial owner in the ordinary course of
its trading activities.'
