Impax Environmental Markets plc announces that it has purchased 600,000 of its own ordinary shares in the market at an average price of 98.22p per share.  The highest price paid per share was 99.5p and the lowest price paid per share was 97p.  These shares will be held in Treasury.

Following this share re-purchase, the Company's issued share capital will be 324,509,373 ordinary shares.  The Company will be holding 15,811,037 of these shares in Treasury.  Therefore, the total number of ordinary shares with voting rights in the Company will be 308,698,336.
