                          Inchcape plc ('the Company')


Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange Plc for a total of 125,000 Ordinary Shares of 150p each ('Shares') to
be admitted to the Official List.

It is expected that the application will be heard on 7 May 2004 and admission
will be effective on 10 May 2004.

These shares are being reserved under block listings and will be issued pursuant
to the following plan/scheme:

The Inchcape SAYE Share Option Scheme               125,000



When issued these Shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares.
