Buyback of 1,000,000 Ordinary shares for cancellation

Inchcape announces that on 18 June 2001 it purchased for cancellation
1,000,000 ordinary shares of 150p each at a price of 493p per shares.

Since Inchcape started to buyback its ordinary shares on 21 March 2001 it has
repurchased for cancellation a total of 8,202,500 ordinary shares leaving
80,180,407 ordinary shares in issue.
