Inchcape announces that on 26 March 2001 it purchased for cancellation 150,000
ordinary shares of 150p each at a price of 385p per share.

Since Inchcape started to buy back its ordinary shares on 21 March 2001 it has
repurchased for cancellation a total of 687,500 ordinary shares leaving
87,663,980 ordinary shares in issue.
