                          Share re-purchase programme





Inchcape plc ('the Company') announces that on 15 May 2006, it purchased 125,000
ordinary shares of 25p each.  The maximum price paid was 470.75p and the minimum
price paid was 461.763p



The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.



Since the Company started buying back shares on 15 April 2005, it has acquired
11,383,020 ordinary shares.  Following the purchase of these shares the Company
holds 11,383,020 of its shares in treasury and has 469,104,000 shares in issue
(excluding treasury shares).
