Inchcape plc today announced that Trevor Taylor has decided to retire from his
position of Executive Deputy Chairman and an Executive Director of the
Inchcape Group effective 31 January 2001. Mr Taylor will remain on the
Inchcape Board as non-executive Director and non-executive Deputy Chairman.
Mr Taylor joined the Inchcape Group in 1987 as Deputy Managing Director of
Toyota (GB), becoming Chief Executive of Toyota (GB) in April 1993 and Chief
Executive of Inchcape Toyota Division in 1995. He joined the Inchcape Board in
January 1998 and resigned his executive role with Toyota (GB) to become a
non-executive Director. He was appointed executive Deputy Chairman on 1 July
1999.
Inchcape Group Chief Executive, Peter Johnson said, 'Trevor has a vast amount
of experience within the motor industry and has contributed significantly to
the Group's operational performance and excellent relationship with Toyota
Motor Corporation. I am delighted that he has decided to continue in a
non-executive role especially as this will enable him to build further his
excellent manufacturer relationships.'
