                          Share re-purchase programme


Inchcape plc ('the Company') announces that on 26 April 2005 it purchased 75,000
ordinary shares of 150p each.  The price paid was 1895p.

The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.

Since the Company started buying back shares on 15 April 2005 it has acquired
763,781 ordinary shares.  Following the purchase of these shares, the Company
holds 763,781 of its shares in treasury and has 78,953,590 shares in issue
(excluding treasury shares).
