                          Share re-purchase programme


Inchcape plc ('the Company') announces that on 30 May 2006, it purchased 400,000
ordinary shares of 25p each.  The maximum price paid was 445p and the minimum
price paid was 433p

The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury.

Since the Company started buying back shares on 15 April 2005, it has acquired
16,306,374 ordinary shares.  Following the purchase of these shares the Company
holds 16,306,374 of its shares in treasury and has 464,226,330 shares in issue
(excluding treasury shares).
