The Board announces that the Company retains in issue 40,157,413 ordinary shares
of 1p each.  The allotment and purchase, for cancellation, history is shown
below.

Allotments in the period to 30 September 2001 pursuant to the offer for
subscription dated 13 October 2000, and supplementary prospectus dated 27
February 2001 amount to 41,801,516.

Purchases for cancellation are as follows:
