On 8 November 1999 the company established an employees' share scheme which is 
a Qualifying Employee Share Ownership Trust (QUEST) that encourages and 
facilitates the acquisition and holding of shares in the company by and for the 
benefit of the employees and certain former employees of the company and other 
companies within the group. On 20 March 2000 401,977 shares and on 9 May 2002 
258,108 shares were allotted to QUEST at an aggregate subscription price of 
790 pence and 266.5 pence respectively, being an amount equivalent to the market 
value of an ordinary share on the date of allotment, to satisfy SAYE share 
options when they are exercised.

From September 2000, all exercises of SAYE options were completed by the 
transfer of shares from Informa Quest Limited to the individual concerned.

As at 16/08/01 441,735 shares had been transferred to individuals following the 
exercise of options.
