KleenAir Systems International plc Trading Statement 24 September 2007 KleenAir Systems International plc ("KleenAir" or the "Company"), a leading provider of emission control systems, has seen a significant increase in orders in the week since receiving approval from Transport for London (TfL) to supply its Free Flow™ Filters to all HGV operators needing to comply with London's Low Emission Zone (LEZ) requirements. Under LEZ regulations, HGVs will have to meet stringent EU emissions standards by 2008, or else pay punitive fines when entering Greater London. KleenAir's robust and low maintenance exhaust filters can be quickly and easily installed and will ensure that vehicles will be fully LEZ compliant. KleenAir's pollution- reducing filters are the only ones listed on TfL's website as being PFF certified. From July 2008 the LEZ will also apply to lorries over 3.5 tonnes, buses and coaches. Operators of affected lorries, buses and coaches that do not meet the LEZ standards will need to pay £200 for each charging day they are driven in the zone. The level of charge has been set to encourage operators to clean up their fleets rather than incur a charge. A penalty charge of £1,000 will apply for operators of non-compliant vehicles, reduced to £500 if paid within 14 days. KleenAir estimates that over 40,000 vehicles will need to upgrade their vehicles to become LEZ compliant at a cost of over £120 million.
