Board Change
The Board of Intec is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Roger McDowell
as a non-executive Director of the Company. Mr McDowell, 47, is a non-Executive
Director of Wax Digital UK Ltd. and the former Managing Director of Oliver
Ashworth Group plc, a company listed in London. His appointment takes effect
from today, Thursday 5 September 2002.
Commenting on the appointment, Mike Frayne, Executive Chairman, said:
"Roger has substantial experience in growing public companies, and in the role
of non-Executive Director for technology businesses. His experience of
consolidating businesses and other acquisition-related matters will also be an
important asset to Intec as we seek to expand the company into new areas."
Pursuant to his appointment, and with the agreement of the Board, Mr McDowell
has purchased 500,000 shares of Intec common stock at a price of 16.5 pence per
share. This purchase was executed on 4 September, in the open period commencing
on the announcement of Intec's third quarter results on 3 September.
The Board also announces that Dr Ceri James will be retiring from the Board with
effect from today, 5 September 2002. Ceri has been a non-executive Director
since Intec's flotation, and his experience and wisdom have been vital in our
successful development. The Board wishes Ceri an enjoyable retirement after a
very distinguished career in the computer industry.

Mr McDowell has not been a director of any listed company within the past five
years other than Oliver Ashworth Group plc. Two companies of which Mr McDowell
was a non-executive director were placed in voluntary liquidation in 2001
(Town-index.com) and 2002 (Wax Digital Ltd). There are no other details to
disclose for the purposes of Rule 16.4(b).
